Josie Gibson breaks down in tears on This Morning over being isolated with son Reg amid coronavirus

Big Brother’s Josie Gibson breaks down in tears on This Morning over being isolated with son Reg, 19 months, amid the coronavirus lockdown

She gave birth to her son Reggie in September 2018.

And, Josie Gibson, 35, broke down in tears on Friday’s instalment of This Morning as she discussed missing human contact while being stuck in isolation with son Reg, 19 months, amid the coronavirus lockdown.

The mother-of-one joined a special Big Brother segment with Davina McCall and Vanessa Feltz as they spoke to hosts Ruth and Eamonn Holmes about being isolated in the BB house, and how it compares to self-isolating amid the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Josie admitted: ‘I found Big Brother an absolute doddle compared to this. I will never ever ever take human interaction for granted, again.

‘I’m isolating, so it’s just me and Reg. And I was just thinking yesterday, when you cuddle somebody, when you hug someone, those moments are so special,’ as she began to break down.

‘They are so good. They’re absolutely golden,’ added Josie through tears, while Ruth sent her ‘virtual hugs’.

As Jodie cried, she apologised, saying: ‘I’m sorry to bring the mood down. I thought Big Brother was so different – you are isolating with a bunch of housemates, you are very tactile, you are very loving.’

Davina McCall said she’d call her to offer some companionship and comfort, which she did during the commercial break.

Later in the show, Josie continued: ‘Oh, I’m so sorry. I’m alright and speaking to you lot has made me feel so normal again.

‘I feel like I remembered what it was like to give somebody a hug, everyone is doing so well. I’m so proud of everybody.’

Josie also explained how most people will experience highs and lows while self-isolating.

She said: ‘I think it’s the same with everybody in the country you have up days and down days and you never take anybody for granted ever again.’

And on how to cope amid the current lockdown, Josie added: ‘Like Davina said, it’s maybe taking away from your phone a little bit and not watching the news too much.’

Just last week, Josie took to Instagram to thank her ‘slightly annoying’ son for his smiling face.

Alongside photographs of little Reg, she wrote: ‘Even though I’m finding him slightly annoying…constantly hanging off one of my legs, I clean up and he un-cleans right behind me (thinking he’s being helpful) and him genuinely thinking I’m his slave.

‘I’m eternally grateful to wake up with his smiling face. Thank you for being you Reginald James Bond xxxx.’

Josie split from her ex-boyfriend Terry, just four months after they welcomed their first son.

The former Big Brother winner confirmed she broke up with her partner over New Year 2018-2019, and began raising Reggie as a single mother.
