Joseph Parker has been forced to pull out of his fight against Dereck Chisora on October 26.
Parker and Chisora were set to face each other at the O2 Arena later this month as part of a co-event alongside Regis Prograis’ fight against Josh Taylor in the World Boxing Super Series final.
But promoter Eddie Hearn has now confirmed Parker will not make the fight due to illness.
‘We are working on a suitable replacement and will make a further announcement this week,’ Hearn said in a brief statement in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
According to ESPN, Parker was ill for the majority of last week and has been unable to train.
The report claims that Parker’s team believe a spider bite is the cause of the sickness.
Parker, whose record stands at 26 wins with two defeats, had been training in Las Vegas ahead of the fight against Chisora.
