Jose Mourinho warns Tottenham's Serge Aurier over 'mocking managers'

Jose Mourinho has laid down the law to Tottenham defender Serge Aurier by warning him over mocking his previous managers.

The Spurs boss is still fresh in the hotseat at the north London club, but has kick-started Tottenham’s season with three wins out of four in the Premier League.

Yet that has not stopped him having a stern word with Aurier, after suggesting the 26-year-old could become a world beater.

According to Foot Mercato , Mourinho said to his full-back: “I am not laughing. If you think that you can mock me on social media like you’ve done to some of your former managers in the past, you are mistaken.”

The Ivory Coast international has been caught up in controversy in the past, over comments made on social media about ex-boss Laurent Blanc during his time at PSG.

Aurier was suspended by PSG over the altercation, after making homophobic slurs towards Blanc via a video message, as well as to several teammates, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

And it appears Mourinho wants to nip any such behaviour in the bud by setting out the guidelines to Aurier – who has been one of the early success stories under his new boss.

Tottenham were criticised for not bringing in a replacement for Kieran Trippier in the summer, as Aurier struggled in the opening stages of the season; but he has performed to a high level under Mourinho.

Meanwhile Mourinho refused to confirm whether Christian Eriksen would stay with Tottenham beyond the end of this season.

The Dane is out of contract next summer and looks likely to depart the club on a free transfer.

Mourinho said: “I only know his contract ends at the end of the season and the conversations I have had with Christian are private conversations that I am not going to share.
