Jose Mourinho outlines Dele Alli transfer stance ahead of Europa League recall

Jose Mourinho has insisted Dele Alli is going nowhere in this transfer window.

Tottenham boss Mourinho is preparing to bring Alli back in from the cold for their Europa League tie with Shkendija in Macedonia on Thursday night.

But Alli’s exile for their previous two games has raised serious doubts over his Tottenham future while French giants Paris Saint Germain have been circling.

Asked if Alli will be at Spurs by the end of the transfer window, Mourinho said: “I believe [he will]. I can even say that I’m convinced that he will be.”

Tottenham do not want to sell Alli but clearly Mourinho is trying to get tough with the England midfielder.

He substituted him at half time in their season-opener against Everton and then left him out for their next two games – the wins over Lokomotiv Plovdiv and Southampton.

Alli has missed Spurs’ last two games

But Mourinho insisted that Alli is almost entirely to blame for his own problems as he has lost his place at Spurs and has also dropped out of the England squad.

Mourinho added: “I always feel that 99 percent of the responsibility is the player.

“I have 1 percent. Me and my staff and the people that work with the players everyday.

We have 1 percent of that responsibility. 99 percent of that belongs to them.

“There is a tendency now when a player performs or doesn’t perform to give responsibilities on coaches and some because they give him the right love, some because they give him the right stick.”
