Jose Mourinho makes Man Utd assessment and predicts where they'll finish in Premier League

Jose Mourinho thinks Manchester United will finish somewhere between fourth and sixth in the Premier League this season, adding they’re not capable of finishing in the top two.

The Red Devils finished sixth last season, qualifying for the Europa League but missing out on the big prize in securing Champions League football.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under pressure to return Manchester United to the Champions League this season, and the club are currently on track to do so.

And Mourinho, who was replaced by Solskjaer, thinks the internal objective of the club is to achieve this – rather than attempt to compete with Liverpool and Manchester City for the title.

Mourinho told Sky Sports: “I think it is very important that the objectives are clear for everybody. What are the objectives of the club?”

“From the outside, I think they will finish between fourth and sixth.

“That is my point of view and I don’t think they are a team capable of fighting for the top two, of course.

“I think it would be a good achievement for them to finish top four and make it back to the Champions League.
