We’re used to seeing Jonah Hill flexing his comedy chops, but his next role could be very different.

The Superbad star is apparently being eyed up to play a villain opposite Robert Pattinson in the upcoming Batman reboot.

According to Variety, the 35-year-old is in talks to join R-Patz in The Batman, which will be written and directed by Matt Reeves.

The website reports that producers have wanted Jonah for the film for a while, but casting decisions were put on hold until the role of Batman was filled – and now that Pattinson has been confirmed, talks are ongoing.

However, sources say that the deal could still fall apart.

While Hill is best known for his comedic turns in Superbad, Knocked Up and 21 Jump Street, he was Oscar nominated for his role in The Wolf Of Wall Street, starred in dramas including Moneyball and was critically acclaimed for his turn in Netflix’s Maniac.

Plus, he already has some experience with Batman – having voiced the Green Lantern in The Lego Batman Movie.

Insiders also told Variety that Jeffrey Wright is in talks to play Commissioner Gordon in The Batman.

Wright, 53, currently stars as Bernard Lowe in Westworld and is also well known for playing Felix Leiter in Daniel Craig’s Bond films and Belize in Angels In America.

The Batman has not started filming yet, and isn’t expected to begin until early 2020.

However, Robert, 33, has already donned the iconic Batsuit while screen-testing, and it sounds as awesome as we’d expect.

The Twilight star told Variety: ‘You do feel very powerful immediately. And it’s pretty astonishing, something that is incredibly difficult to get into, so the ritual of getting into it is pretty humiliating.

‘You’ve got five people trying to shove you into something. Once you’ve got it on, it’s like, “Yeah, I feel strong, I feel tough, even though I had to have someone squeezing my butt cheeks into the legs”.’

Any person who has worn Spanx can relate.
