Joker and Dragon Quest Hero amiibo scheduled for release this autumn

The latest two amiibo coming to the Smash Bros. Collection.

Nintendo has confirmed that Persona 5’s Joker and Dragon Quest 11’s Hero amiibo will be launching later this autumn.

The release date for both was confirmed by Masahiro Sakurai during the latest Smash Bros. presentation. We’d already known that a Joker amiibo was due to join the Smash Bros. Collection for some time, but this is the first news we’ve had regarding a release date for many months.

The last time we heard about any new amiibo was way back in November 2019 when Dark Samus and Richter variants were revealed.

There’s no sign of either the Joker or Hero amiibo at any retailers just yet, but I’ll be sure to come back and add links in when they do. You should expect to pay around £15/$15 for each one if they’re priced the same as other new amiibo in the past.

For now, if you’re looking to expand you amiibo collection in other ways, you can always head over to Jelly Deals. We’ve got a look at where you can find every Animal Crossing amiibo and amiibo card, as well as all the other best amiibo deals currently available.

Elsewhere during today’s video, Sakurai also revealed that Arms character Min Min will be joining the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster, alongside five yet-to-be-announced combatants from the game’s second Fighter Pass. These will all arrive over the next 12 months.

A number of new Mii character costumes will also be available from 29th June. The standout here is clearly the Vault Boy from Fallout. No doubt, this will further stoke the rumours of mainline Fallout games coming to the Switch – something I’m all for, to be honest.
