Insider is hosting a webinar next Tuesday with experts from leading law firm Brodies and accountancy firm Anderson Anderson & Brown (AAB), analysing what’s next for the nation.
Editor Ken Symon will host Brodies chairman Christine O’Neill QC and AAB indirect tax director Alistair Duncan for an hour’s discussion at midday on 25 May.
Topics are set to include the economic outlook post Covid-19 and government involvement in businesses’ recovery, as well as the short and long-term impacts of Brexit.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions in an interactive Q&A session.
O’Neill commented: “There are many moving parts to consider when looking ahead to what’s next for Scotland’s business community – over the past year, the intervention of the UK and Scottish Governments in our economy has been unprecedented in scale in response to the pandemic.
“As we navigate the recovery process, we’re likely to see that government involvement continue, so we’ll be looking at how that approach might develop and what it means for policy-making and the wider business community.”
Duncan said: ”Following years of Brexit uncertainty around the UK’s relationship with the EU, Scottish businesses will be hoping for a period of greater stability as they seek to recover from the Covid lockdown.
“With newly elected national and devolved parliaments, they will be looking to both Westminster and Holyrood to support rather than hinder that recovery.
“There is already support available and it is important businesses are able to identify and access that support.”
Tickets for the webinar are free – and you can register for them here.
