Join Love Island and jet to Cape Town for a romantic getaway packed with activities for couples

From vineyards to natural beauty spots, there is so much for couples to enjoy there — and here we explore six of the most romantic activities.

A short drive out of town are the wine estates in Constantia, Helderberg and the Cape Winelands.

Stellenbosch and Franschhoek are home to an array of wineries.

Soak up the scenery while sampling the local plonk on the Franschhoek Wine Tram, which stops off at a number of vineyards in the Franschhoek Valley from £13pp.

It’s home to one of the world’s smallest and rarest collections of wild flowers, and offers an unbeatable panorama of the city and Atlantic ocean.

Take the cable car to the summit, or hike for a more secluded adventure, before settling down with a bottle of sparkling wine as the sun sinks below the horizon.

The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway offers afternoon return tickets to the summit from £16pp. See tablemountain.net.

Wolfgat, a tiny beach cottage in the Western Cape, was named the best in the world at the first World Restaurant Awards in February.

The secluded spot in the sleepy fishing village of Paternoster is a two-hour drive from Cape Town.

It seats just 20 people and is ideal for an intimate date.

A seven-course tasting menu is from £47pp. See wolfgat.co.za.

Or get stuck in at a Food Jam event in Cape Town’s Salt River suburb. Guests pair up to improvise cooking a meal, enjoying the final culinary creation together in the kitchen.

A four-course lunch or dinner is from £27pp. See new.foodjams.co.za.
