Johnny Knoxville files for divorce from wife Naomi Nelson after nearly 12 years of marriage


Johnny Knoxville has filed for divorce from his wife of nearly 12 years, Naomi Nelson.

The Jackass star, 51, filed the divorce documents in Los Angeles on Thursday, according to TMZ.

Knoxville has son Rocko, 12, and daughter Arlo, 10, with Naomi, and listed September 4, 2021 – their 11 year wedding anniversary – as their date of separation, according to The Blast

The MTV icon has requested joint legal and physical custody of their children and has also cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce.

Knoxville tied the knot with Naomi in Los Angeles in September 2010, according to UPI.

This was Knoxville’s second marriage. The prankster was previously married to Melanie Clapp from 1995 to 2008.

They share daughter Madison Clapp, 26.

In August 2021, a month before their split, Knoxville posted a gushing tribute to her in honor of her birthday.

‘Happy birthday to my love and light. A wonderful wife and a beautiful mother. You are the sunshine on my face and everything good. I love you very much. Happy birthday,’ he raved.

On Mother’s Day that same year, he posted of her: ‘Happy Mother’s Day to my one true love and the most wonderful mother our kids could ever hope for. You bless us every day and I and we love you very much.’

Meanwhile, Knoxville, as well as the other performers, were all featured in the recently-released feature Jackass Forever.

The movie served as the fourth entry in the film franchise, which was originally based on the series of the same name.

The show initially premiered in 2000, with the first film premiering two years later.

The film was a hit with audiences, and two sequels were released in 2006 and 2010, respectively.

Two behind-the-scenes features that accompanied the sequels were also released to the public.

A spinoff movie entitled Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa debuted in 2013, and Stephen Prout was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling for his work on the movie.

Development on Jackass Forever began in 2018, when Knoxville expressed that he would be interested in working on another feature in the series.

The project was confirmed to have been in production the following year, and filming took place throughout much of 2020.

Jackass Forever was released to the public on February 4 and was met with widespread critical and commercial success.

A behind-the-scenes feature entitled Jackass 4.5 premiered on Netflix last month.

It was later announced that a rebooted Jackass series was currently in the development stage.

According to Variety, the new version of the show will premiere on the Paramount+ streaming service.
