The film follows David as he embarks on a road trip to America with publicist Ron Oberman (Marc Maron) in 1971, according to Deadline.
While on the journey to the United States, 24-year-old Bowie creates his alter ego Ziggy Stardust.
At that point in his career, David had already acquired a following as a rock ‘n’ roll, teen idol and created a new identity for Space Oddity in 1969.

Johnny is the lead singer of his self-titled band, Johnny Flynn & The Sussexx Wit, and starred in the Netflix sitcom Lovesick.
Jena Malone from The Hunger Games franchise will star as David’s first wife Mary Angela ‘Angie’ Barnett.
The couple reportedly had an open marriage and one son named Duncan, but ultimately divorced in February 1980.
