John W Henry had a message for Jurgen Klopp after Liverpool's win over Man Utd


Liverpool owner John W Henry had a brief message for Jurgen Klopp following the Reds’ win over Manchester United on Sunday.

Klopp’s Liverpool had just claimed the bragging rights against bitter rivals Manchester United with a 2-0 win at Anfield.

Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah wrapped up the result with goals in either half, with the victory seeing the Reds go 16 points clear at the top of the Premier League.

After the match Liverpool fans could be heard singing “We’re going to win the league” as the Reds players left the pitch and made their way to the changing room.

In the corridors of Anfield Klopp was greeted by a number of people who congratulated him on the result.

Among them was Liverpool owner John W Henry, who pulled the German in for a hug and uttered the words: “Wow, amazing. Just amazing.”

Liverpool are almost certain to win the Premier League this season, which will be the first in the club’s rich history.

But Klopp insists he and his players are not getting carried away just yet.

“They can sing that [We’re going to win the league],” said Klopp. “I am not here to dictate what they sing. If our fans were not in a good mood now that would be really strange.

“Of course they are allowed to dream and sing whatever they want, and as long as they do their job in the moment we play, all fine. But we will not be part of that party yet.”
