John Mayer has been granted a temporary restraining order against a man who reportedly made anti-Semitic death threats against him.

The Gravity singer took out the order against Ryan Jeremy Knight, 39, who apparently began harassing him in March and grew more aggressive in April.

Knight started stalking John before making violent threats to his team on social media, according to court filings obtained by E! News.

John – whose father is Jewish – claimed that Knight said to him: ‘I’ve put many a Jew in the hospital.’

Other messages Knight allegedly sent include: ‘You step from me again and I will kill you,’ ‘All ya had to do was be my pal’, ‘I’m everywhere like god,’ and ‘PS watch your back.’

John claimed Knight has an ‘apparent obsession’ with him, reportedly telling the singer, ‘F**k you for all that you do ya narcissist,’ ‘You ain’t s***,’ and ‘I will beat you and your whole crew at the same d**n time.’

He also allegedly referred to notorious murderers like Ted Bundy and John Lennon’s killer Mark David Chapman.

Knight, who is from North Carolina, was arrested last March for felony stalking and in June 2017 for misdemeanor stalking, according to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff.

He showed up at John’s concert in North Carolina on June 28 and was escorted away by the 41-year-old singer’s security, court documents claimed.

John decided to pursue legal action because Knight’s threats have caused him to ‘suffer substantial emotional duress’ and left him in fear of his life.

A judge ordered the fan to stay 100 feet away from Mayer and his home, while a follow-up court hearing on August 27 will determine if the order is made permanent.

Grammy-winner John, who is mainly based in Los Angeles, is currently on a worldwide tour and performed in Chicago on Thursday.
