John Bishop joked he had picked a ‘posh’ vaccination centre when he ran into Downton Abbey star Hugh Bonneville as he went to receive his vaccine.

The comedian, 54, shared a selfie with Hugh on the day of his vaccination at the Midhurst Riverbank Medical Centre.

The actor has been volunteering as a vaccine centre marshal to do his bit during the pandemic.

On Saturday John attended his appointment for the jab and ran into the Paddington star outside.

Posting their fun, socially distanced photo together on Instagram, the Doctor Who star said: ‘You know you have picked a posh vaccination centre when you get there and @bonhughbon is a volunteer’.

In the selfie a smiling John stands close to the camera taking the photo, as Hugh stands behind him at a distance giving a thumbs up.

The actor, 57, was wearing his high-visibility jacket and had a face mask under his chin.

Announcing in January as he began his volunteerting, Hugh shared a picture of himself having the jab before getting involved with his first shift.

‘Delighted to be part of the support team as a volunteer marshall. I get to wear hi viz and everything,’ he wrote on Twitter.

Other celebrities to lend their services at vaccine centres include TV presenters Vernon Kay and Emma Willis, and Busted star Matt Willis.

Stars such as Dolly Parton, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sir Anthony Hopkins have been sharing their vaccinations on social media to encourage others to do the same.

The Department of Health confirmed on Saturday that the number of people in the UK to receive their second Covid jab has passed the five million mark.
