Joe Swash reminded us all of the joys of newborn parenting after being on the receiving end of a vomit attack from his four-month-old son Rex.
The dad-of-two, who welcomed his first child with Stacey Solomon in May, might have been told off by his partner for lazing round in bed and ignoring the housework, but got his comeuppance as his baby son threw up all over him on Saturday night.
Documenting the moment on Instagram (because of course), Joe was pictured holding a cheeky looking Rex while sporting a stylish, vomit-covered t-shirt.
‘One of us has been a bit sick!!! And Rex looks a bit guilty to me??’ the former Eastenders star wrote, as his wide-eyed son gasped at the accusation.
With that butter-wouldn’t-melt look, we’re not convinced the infant would do such a thing…
Becoming a father for the second time hasn’t been the easiest ride for Joe, who has a 12-year-old son with former fiance Emma Sophocleus, with Stacey revealing that Rex’s birth has brought up a lot of trauma for the dad surrounding the loss of his own father.
‘It is a trauma and I am always surprised that people are surprised that you grieve forever,’ 30-year-old Stacey said on Loose Women.
‘Joe lost his dad when he was 11 and it has had a fundamental impact on his life, especially when huge life events happen – even if they are positive.
‘When we had Rex, [there] was trauma. At the same time as being the most wonderful thing in the world.’
She added: ‘He never got to show his dad his son, and he’ll never get that chance and he thought about that a lot. It really impacted, and I think still impacts, his life.’
