Joe Sugg: ‘I’m worried’ Strictly star reveals amid girlfriend Dianne Buswell admission


Joe Sugg, 27, appeared on the The Michael Ball Show on BBC Radio 2 where the Strictly Come Dancing finalist addressed his time on the BBC series before making a cheeky admission about his professional partner Dianne Buswell, 30. The YouTube star admitted he assumed he would be the “comedy act” of the series and was worried about making his debut on the ballroom dance floor. Joe said: “I was very surprised [to get on Strictly] and I was on the fence about doing it. I thought I’ll be the comedy act this series who can’t dance through the whole thing. “I was very worried about doing it.”

But the social media star admitted it was his girlfriend Dianne who was able to get him through the show.

He added: “I had a very good teacher. Very good.”

The Strictly Come Dancing finalist has since taking to Instagram to gush over his girlfriend as she prepared for the new series.

Joe shared a sweet snap of the pair as they embraced in a heartwarming snap.

In view of his 5 million followers, he captioned the post: “So proud of this girl for last night. Can’t wait for you all to see @bbcstrictly on the 7th it’s going to be such a good series and I hope this girl and her new partner go all the way!”

Fans and celeb pals alike inundated the star with comments, with Dianne being one of the first to gush over her beau.

She replied: “My biggest fan!”

Another person commented: “The most supportive boyfriend award goes too…”

While a third person added: “How wonderful that you both still get to work on the show that brought you together this year. 2019 has been amazing for you guys and the best is yet to come I feel!”

Last year, Joe and Dianne confirmed they are in a relationship days after getting to the final of the show.

The duo, who recently moved in together, competed for the Glitterball trophy which was later won by Stacey Dooley, 32, and Kevin Clifton, 36.

Elsewhere, Dianne and her fellow pros have been in rehearsals ahead of the new series next month.

Joe is set to return to the BBC show as he will present alongside Kim Winston as the pair share the latest backstage action in their official Strictly Come Dancing podcast.

Speaking about dancing with someone new, the Australian professional dancer told Express.co.uk: “I love anyone who is willing to work really hard and have a great time.

“I really want them to fall in love with dancing, so yeah whoever has that mentality, I’m happy.

“I’ve been really lucky so far, all my partners have been a dream to work with.”

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on September 7.
