Joe Sugg: ‘Hated it!’ Dianne Buswell’s boyfriend opens up on secret Strictly ‘nightmare’

Joe Sugg, 28, and Dianne Buswell, 30, reached the final of Strictly Come Dancing last year, but were pipped to the post by Stacey Dooley, 33, and her dance partner, Kevin Clifton, 36.

During his time on the series, the vlogger had a “nightmare” when it came to getting ready to perform, something he has kept quiet about until now.

The YouTube sensation revealed he “hated” a certain part of the fake tanning process, when someone had to touch his feet.

Joe made the admission during yesterday’s episode of the Strictly Come Dancing podcast, which he presents with Kim Winston.

His co-star revealed Joe was going to be set the challenge of fake tanning a celebrity on the show: “One of the most important departments in Strictly: fake tan.

“Joe you are actually going to fake tan a celebrity yourself so if it goes wrong, it’s going to be completely your fault.”

Kim then asked: “Did you enjoy getting fake tanned?”

“I loved getting fake tanned,” Joe replied. “Especially in the winter months, like the longer the shows go on, the paler you get, so I loved it.”

However, Joe, who is in a relationship with professional dancer Dianne Buswell, admitted there was an aspect he didn’t enjoy.

He divulged: “Although, there was one bit I didn’t like… You step on these sticky foot things so you don’t tan the bottom of your feet.

“Peeling those off afterwards is a nightmare, I hated it! I don’t like people touching my feet and it was the worst.”

Joe added: “Other than that…”

Kim went on to probe: “How do you feel about touching other people’s feet?”

“I love it,” the social media star replied. “My favourite thing is actually touching other people’s feet.”

“Are you joking?” Kim asked.

“Er… yeah,” he added, before laughing: “I was getting very weird looks then.”

In another episode of the podcast, Joe revealed professional dancer, Aljaz Skorjanec, has always called him the wrong name.

The star, who is currently performing in musical Waitress, explained Aljaz has called him Jonathan ever since they met on the show last year.

“Aljaz is an incredible dancer, an incredible human being but he’s not good at remembering my name,” Joe laughed.

The reality star went on: “He has called me Jonathan since I think week two last year and it’s just never changed.

“I say, ‘Why do you call me that?’ He laughs and carries on with what he’s doing!”

Strictly Come Dancing airs tomorrow on BBC One at 6.40pm.
