Joe Russo, the co-director of Avengers:Endgame has revealed he has no regrets over the film’s ending and would not change anything about the ending or plot twists.

Speaking at a Talks With Google event, the director said he and his brother Anthony do not regret a thing of their final project with Marvel studios.

He told the audience: ‘If we regret anything by the end of it, then we did not do our jobs right…As we’re making the film, we’re shooting a year.

‘So something we shot two months in we can watch three months later in the edit room and decide we don’t like performance, we don’t like the tone, we didn’t get the joke right, we didn’t get the emotion right and we reshoot it.’

One of the most memorable and emotional films in the movie is when Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr, dies. In the original shot, Iron Man did not say anything on his deathbed and Joe explained that it did not sit right.

‘The famous “I am Iron Man” line was literally shot like two months before this film was in theatres,’ Joe added.

‘It’s an exceedingly iterative process and the only limits are how much sleep you need to get.’

Fortunately, it seems like it was worth the sleepless nights as it became the highest-grossing film of all time when it was released in July. To date, it’s earned more than $2.795 billion in global box office receipts and earned Joe and Anthony Russo the Directors of The Year award at the Big Screen Achievement Awards in Las Vegas.

It’s also the fastest-selling digital downloads film of all time with 335,400 digital downloads in its first week.

This smashes the previous record held by Bohemian Rhapsody which entered the history books in February with 265,000 downloads in its first week.

The film is unlikely to appear on streaming services such as Netflix or Amazon Prime, as Disney is gearing up to launch its own streaming service, Disney Plus, this winter.

It’s likely Endgame will only be available to stream on Disney’s own platform, an exact UK launch date for which has not yet been confirmed.
