Joe Lycett celebrates joy of ‘having a nice s**g’ as he turns into music video director

Joe Lycett has made his music video directorial debut for Litany’s Uh-Huh – and it’s a certified bop celebrating the joy of ‘having a really good s**g’.

After a cheeky DM slide from the comedian formerly known as Hugo Boss, Litany – real name Beth Cornell – recruited Joe to star and direct in the clip, which was filmed within lockdown restrictions.

As a result, we get a fashion-forward whirlwind of colour, a dance routine a la Kylie Minogue, and a song we can’t get out for our heads.

Speaking about the project, Joe said: ‘The song is about Litany, essentially, having a nice shag. Something’s happened to her, and she doesn’t know who she is anymore, she’s kind of lost in that whirlwind of post-coital excitement.

‘I wanted to create a sense, as the video went on, that she was cutting between different versions of herself, and it just becomes more and more insane.

‘By the end we’re cutting between ourselves, and a chicken, and different people that look a bit like her, and then people look totally not like her!’

Joe didn’t come into the project alone either, roping in pals Katherine Ryan and Drag Race UK’s Vinegar Strokes to make cameo appearances through the ‘whirlwind’ of Litany’s after-sex feelings.

‘Katherine was saying how she doesn’t feel very cool, because she’s a comic – and she feels down with the kids now she’s in a music video,’ Joe laughed. ‘So I’m happy to have this help with her street cred!’

As part of the video, Joe, Litany and dancers were seen performing a dance routine, ticking another new venture off the list for the TV presenter and funnyman.

Thankfully, it looked better than how Joe felt about it, as he admitted: ‘I was s***ting myself!

‘I am not a dancer, and I’ve never done anything like that before. But actually I found all of that really fun and exciting and totally different. ‘

‘I find making things like a real drug I find I get a real buzz from it,’ he said. ‘I get a real high, and particularly when I’m doing something that’s new, and I’ve never done it before, and only really seen somebody else do it.

‘It’s stuff like that I really get a buzz from.’

‘The new Kylie, I think that’s what I should go as,’ he then declared. ‘White jumpsuit, but it needs to be a bit more sort of flowy at the front, doesn’t it?

‘Robotic moves… I need a visor as well. So I’m not quite there, but I’m teetering.

‘You have to earn a visor, I could have worn one for Covid reasons. I missed a trick there.’
