The Oklahoma-born married his fourth wife Tara in May 2018, and has five children, Parker, Kara, Drew, Tyler and Kylie Tarissa.
Joe and his daughter Kara auditioned for American Idol in 2010 while he was married to his first wife, Janise Parker.
The father-of-five, who was married four times during his lifetime, was also passionate about his charity work on top of his huge success as a singer.
He used to hold charity concerts from 1992 to the early 2000s for First Steps, a charity that helps educate mentally and physically impaired children.
After his efforts and contributions towards the charity were recognised, Joe won a Humanitarian Award from the Country Radio Broadcasters in 1997.
