Jennifer Lopez brought some glamour to Inauguration Day as she delivered a moving performance at Capitol.
The singer and actress wowed in a voluminous white ensemble as she took to the stage to perform a rendition of Woody Guthrie’s This Land Is Your Land.
The singer couldn’t resist including a line from her hit, Let’s Get Loud, as she took part in the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
The day before the performance, Jennifer took time to speak with members of the national guard at Capitol.
Sharing a video of the moment, she wrote: ‘What an honor to spend a few moments with these brave men and women.
‘Thank you for your service and sacrifice. I honor you today and everyday. Tomorrow I sing for you and all Americans.’
Her performance can after fellow superstar Lady Gaga gave a powerful performance of the US National Anthem.
Exiting Vice President Mike Pence attended the scaled-back ceremony, as well as former presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama – joined by their respective first ladies Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush, and Michelle Obama.
More stars will be on hand to virtually celebrate the new president in Celebrating America, a live broadcast being aired across several networks to replace the traditional celebrations that cannot go ahead due to coronavirus.
Tom Hanks is hosting the special, and it’s reported that there’ll be appearances from Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen, John Legend, Jon Bon Jovi, Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake and more.
