Jodie Comer And Sandra Oh Champion British Designers On Killing Eve Promo Tour

Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh might be on the US leg of the Killing Eve season two promo tour, but both actors are shining a spotlight on British designers. At the AMC Network Summit in New York, Comer wore a Temperley London red sequin “Heart Charm” jumpsuit, while Oh plumped for Emilia Wickstead’s baby pink “Brice” all-in-one.

The polar opposite styling – Comer’s distinctly dark, Oh’s verging on saccharine – is emblematic of the public-facing looks the duo has served up from the very beginning of their red-carpet relationship. With the help of Hollywood mega stylist and Vogue contributing editor Elizabeth Saltzman, Comer’s wardrobe has largely comprised black dresses in interesting cuts – a far cry away from the pink Molly Goddard meringue dress phenomenon spawned by her protagonist Villanelle. Oh’s, meanwhile, has been decidedly understated – all pale and form-fitting with little fuss or frippery.

“They are full-package chicks,” Saltzman previously told Vogue of helping each actor to hone a confident personal aesthetic. “I have to listen to [both] of them. [Working with them is] not about my taste.”

Thematically, she has debunked the idea that the colleagues’ red-carpet dichotomy signifies the good-versus-evil characterisation in the spy thriller TV series. Often her clients’ looks are underlined by more subtle messaging, such as the silver tones running through Comer and Oh’s Golden Globes outfits. “With all the sh*t going on in the world, I think that everyone needs a silver lining,” Saltzman asserted at the time.

As BBC America commissions a third season of Killing Eve – with British writer Suzanne Heathcote in charge of the script – the diaries of the small screen’s favourite psychopath and her captor are set to be just as busy for 2020. Here’s to seeing the dynamic duo really get into their red-carpet stride.
