Jocelyne Wildenstein, the 90s socialite known for her facial transformation, has denied she’s ever had plastic surgery.

The 84-year-old rose to notoriety in the late 90s during her high-profile divorce from the late billion-dollar business man and art dealer Alec Wildenstein in 1999.

Her face – particularly her feline-like features – have been subject to plenty of media discourse over the years which dubbed her the nickname ‘Catwoman’ which is also the name of her upcoming HBO documentary.

And Jocelyn herself has spoken about her relationship with treatments like fillers and Botox in the past.

But in a recent interview she reiterated, despite everyone’s speculation, that she has not gone under the knife.

‘I haven’t had plastic surgery, I am scared of what can happen and I don’t like to have something heavy, sometimes it is a bit heavy and terrible,’ she told The Sun.

She added that she’s not had any fillers and has heard unfortunate stories from those who have.

‘I don’t like the Botox,’ the New Yorker continued.

‘Everyone has a different reaction to it. I have had Botox only twice. I don’t know if I am allergic, but when I had it, it did not go well with me. It was not a good result, my face swelled up.’

But earlier this year, fans were left surprised when they saw a throwback photo of Jocelyne that she uploaded to Instagram to celebrate her daughter’s birthday where she looked different.

This is not the first time Jocelyne has gone on record to refute the plastic surgery allegations.

Speaking to Interview magazine in 2023, she focused on her various hairstyles when asked about when she had started ‘doing things with [her] face’.

She said: ‘I have changed a lot. My hair went from very curly to very straight, but I always had stylish, wild hair.

‘When you look at the pictures of me, some with curly hair, some with exotic hair, some with straight hair, you can see how it completely changes your appearance. Also the way I dress changes how I am seen.’

And when pushed on the matter, offered a response hitting back at the media.

‘Journalists can say whatever they like, they can say whatever they feel. I never bother to make a contradiction, because it’s really not my problem,’ she said.

Even as far back as 2018, Jocelyne has been firm in her response, attributing her looks to her heritage.

She told Daily Mail that her ‘high cheekbones and long hair’ come from her Swiss background prompting comparisons to French actress Brigitte Bardot.

And her French fiancée Lloyd Klein, 57, added at the time: ‘I don’t understand the whole press and the Catwoman thing because Jocelyn always looked like that.

‘She never really did anything to change her face. I have pictures from 16 years old where she looks exactly the same as today.’

And when explicitly asked if she had undergone surgery, she said: ‘No,’ adding that ‘you still find the same eyes, same high cheeks, or same nose. I think I was more pretty.’

She used similar reasoning in a chat with Paper magazine the same year, concluding: ‘I have nothing to prove. In the end, I don’t care.’

And Klein even claimed that the whole false story was pedalled by Jocelyne’s ex-husband.

The first reports that she had had any work done came about during a 1998 Vanity Fair profile in which Alec claimed he and Jocelyne had got ‘his and her eyelifts’ one year into being married.

Alec then added: ‘I would always find out last. She was thinking that she could fix her face like a piece of furniture. Skin does not work that way. But she wouldn’t listen.’

Jocelyne met Alec in 1977 on a safari in Kenya and they had two children together.

During their divorce in 1999, Jocelyne was awarded an eye-watering $2.5billion (£1.9billion) and $100million (£78million) for 13 years after (on the condition it was not used towards cosmetic surgery), per Reuters.

Last year she also told The Telegraph she had run into financial troubles.

‘I have a huge problem with my settlement,’ she told the publication. ‘Since eight years, they have completely cut me off.’
