Joanna accuses Michael and Amber of lying to her as love triangle drama heightens

Things come to a head between Amber Gill, Michael Griffiths and Joanna Chimonides on tonight’s Love Island. 

Michael, who was originally coupled up with Amber, decided to ditch the “childish” Geordie beauty therapist in favour of Joanna after a tense recoupling. 

Earlier this week, the Liverpudlian fire fighter took Amber to one side to apologise for his actions, and looked equally miffed when she decided to take Ovie Sokio on date the following day. 

Hearing conversation cuttings from the other Islanders as well as Molly-Mae throwing in her thoughts on what she’s heard, Joanna takes matters into her own hands and sits down Michael to ask if he still has feelings for his ex. 

Calling him out, she asks: “Either one of you have taken the p**s.” 

“And you really think it’s me?,” he responds. 

Joanna admits: “I don’t know you well enough to say, you’re not going to take the p**s. Do you still have feelings for her?” 

Without hesitations, Michael claps back: “No.” 

Not happy with his reply, Joanna confesses to Amy: “I just don’t know what’s the truth and what’s not the truth.”

Molly-Mae doesn’t help the situation when she later discloses what she’s heard to Joanna: “He’s not being honest with you because if he’d said to Amber yesterday it’s definitely done why would she even contemplate taking him on a date?”

Speaking in the Beach Hut, Joanna reveals: “I was hearing from the girls Michael didn’t close things off, and I’m hearing from Michael he did close things off, so what a perfect way to have it out is to just bring them both together and confront the situation.

Later on, in a bid to draw a line under things, Joanna calls both Michael and Amber over for a chat. 

Belle informs the other contestants the London recruitment consultant is on a mission to find out “who’s been lying to her.”
