Oritse Williams’ ex girlfriend has revealed that she was ‘forced to turn to food banks’ after splitting from the JLS star.

Oritse dated dancer and choreographer Aimee Jade Azari, known as AJ, from 2012 to 2016, with the pair welcoming a son together in 2014.

But as JLS recently announced their upcoming reunion tour seven years after they went their separate ways, AJ alleged that she was forced to split from the Beat Again singer after he became jealous of her having a career and called her ‘too heavy’ while working on a TV show together.

She told The Mirror: ‘His fans troll me and say I’m a gold-digger – but when I left I had nothing. I was sent to food banks.

‘I ended up on my mum’s sofa. If it wasn’t for friends and family, I’d have been living in a hostel. It’s still so raw.’

Eventually given a council house in Manchester to live in, she continued: ‘I’ve always been independent, but I couldn’t even put a deposit down on a rented flat as I’d stopped working.

‘Around this time, my voice disappeared and I had to go to speech therapy. It hurt when people said I’d only been with Oritsé for his money.’

Shortly after their split, Oritse was accused of raping a fan in a Wolverhampton hotel, only to be found not guilty by jury in May 2019.

Ahead of JLS’ reunion announcement, the 33-year-old thanked his fans for their support throughout the trial.

‘I jus wana say thNku to all my fans / supporters for everything you do,’ he tweeted.

‘Life may have not of been easy the last couple of years but you really have brought me to the point where I’m slowly finding my self confidence again and feel so incredibly motivated in this new decade!!!

‘God bless you all! Peace&Love [sic].’
