Jimmy Kimmel trolled Donald Trump Jr.’s photo of a new line of camouflage Trump-branded merchandise with an action figure poking fun at the president’s oldest son.
Trump Jr. unveiled new merchandise on Instagram over the weekend, modeling an army green “TRUMP” shirt and showing off camouflage belts, wallets, socks, flasks, dog leashes and tote bags. The late night host took things a step further Tuesday on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” imagining his own addition to the line.
“Not only is the Junior boy making some cool camo gear, he’s surprisingly getting into the toy business, too,” Kimmel said, by way of introducing his show’s commercial for a pretend new action figure: “G.I. Schmo,” a Donald Trump Jr. lookalike in the same army green tee and a Make America Great Again hat.
“He’ll fight for Daddy’s love,” a voice-over announces. “DJTJ doesn’t run, fight or work, but he comes with cool camouflage clothes and a vanilla latte with a plastic straw. He never served in the military, but he fights for freedom his own way: on Twitter.”
More of the doll’s features: a “spray-on beard, a pile of daddy’s money and a helicopter to shoot elephants from.”
Kimmel also made fun of the selfie Trump Jr. used to announce the new merchandise, which gained traction online when some noticed coloring on the shirt that looked like it might be a stain.
“A lot of people said (the stain) was here, just under where his chin would be, but that’s incorrect. The stain is actually here, right on top of his neck,” Kimmel quipped, as a graphic circled Trump’s whole face.
“A camouflaged shirt covered in grease stains: you have to admit, they know their customers. The best part of this big merchandise announcement is the Trump family still isn’t making their crap in America, after all the talk of American-made this and that, they still can’t spend the extra $2 to have their garbage made here.”
