Jim Carrey looked all kinds of cool as he arrived in London today ahead of the latest Sonic The Hedgehog premiere.

The 58-year-old actor was whisked from the airport and taken to the plush Corinthia Hotel in Westminster on Thursday (30 January), hours before he was due to join his Sonic co-stars on the red carpet.

It appears Jim is either still on LA time or simply missing the Californian sun as he wore a pair of trendy sunglasses – and we can assure you, it certainly wasn’t beaming bright in the capital this chilly Thursday.

But still, it perfectly complimented his cool and sophisticated look as Jim kept himself warm in a smart black trenchcoat.

Jim’s schedule is packed back-to-back at the minute with promo for Sonic, which had its Los Angeles premiere on Sunday.

The comic actor walked the blue carpet alongside his co-star James Marsden, who is playing Tom Wachowski alongside Jim’s Dr Ivo Robotnik.

Fans are particularly curious to see how Sonic, based on the popular video game, turns out after the first trailer was heavily panned last year. Many were critical of how Sonic was animated prompted the studio to literally go back to the drawing board to make improvements.

In light of the criticism, the movie’s release date was pushed back from 8 November to Valentine’s Day.

But it could hit the ground running as The Hollywood Reporter claims Sonic is expected to rake in £35 million in its opening weekend.

While Jim is fully engrossed in Sonic world at the moment, he is already looking towards the future and is eyeing up a sequel to his iconic caper The Mask.

Speaking to Comic Book recently, Jim admitted: ‘It depends on a filmmaker, really.

‘I don’t want to do it just to do it. But I would only do it if it was some crazy visionary filmmaker. Sure.’

There are also reports that Jim is in talks to reprise his classic character Ace Ventura in another sequel.

Sonic The Hedgehog is set for release on 14 January.
