Jessica Simpson has spoken out on John Mayer’s infamous claim she was ‘sexual napalm’, calling it ‘shocking’.
The 39-year-old has written a tell-all memoir, Open Book, in which she discusses her past sexual abuse trauma and her addiction to pills and alcohol.
And the book also addresses Jessica’s past relationships – from her messy divorce from Nick Lachey, to her romance with John Mayer.
The pair dated in 2006 and 2007 for 10 months, and three years after their break-up, Mayer gave an interview to Playboy in which he spoke about Jessica’s skills in bed.
The Your Body Is A Wonderland singer said: ‘Yeah, that girl is like crack cocaine to me.
‘Sexually it was crazy. That’s all I’ll say. It was like napalm, sexual napalm. Did you ever say, “I want to quit my life and just f***ing snort you?”‘
And Jessica admits she deleted her ex’s number after seeing the interview.
In an excerpt from her book acquired by People, the With You singer said: ‘He thought that was what I wanted to be called. I was floored and embarrassed that my grandmother was actually gonna read that.
‘A woman and how they are in bed is not something that is ever talked about.’
The mum-of-three added: ‘He was the most loyal person on the planet and when I read that he wasn’t, that was it for me.
‘I erased his number. He made it easy for me to walk away.’
She did note that Mayer has since apologised for his comments.
Speaking about their relationship, Jessica said: ‘Again and again, he told me he was obsessed with me, sexually and emotionally.’
However, the reality star worried that she wasn’t clever enough for the singer, and even had friends check the grammar and spelling in her texts before she sent them.
John, 42, gives Leonardo DiCaprio a run for his money with the string of celebs he has dated.
As well as having an on-off relationship with Katy Perry, the singer has dated Taylor Swift, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Vanessa Carlton.
Jessica married Eric Johnson in 2014, with the couple welcoming their third child, Birdie, last March.
