Jeremy Corbyn tonight called on Boris Johnson to come clean with voters about the impact of a no-deal Brexit .
No 10 dismissed an “out of date” Whitehall study for Operation Yellowhammer warning of food, fuel and medicine shortages, a three-month meltdown at ports and hard border in Ireland.
The Labour leader demanded the Prime Minister reveal the latest Whitehall assessments of the consequences of quitting the EU without a pact.
Mr Corbyn said: “If the Government wants to be believed that it doesn’t represent the real impact, it must publish its most recent assessments today in full.
“ Boris Johnson ’s denials can’t be trusted and will do nothing to give businesses or consumers any confidence that the dire state of affairs described in these documents aren’t right around the corner.”
It came amid fresh calls for MPs to scrap their summer holidays and return to Westminster to sort out Brexit, amid mounting fears the UK will leave the EU on October 31 without a deal.
Mr Corbyn backed the “recall of Parliament in order to prevent the Prime Minister having some kind of manoeuvre to take us out on October 31 without any further discussion in Parliament.”
But No10 shrugged off the demand, with the Prime Minister’s spokeswoman saying: “The House of Commons agreed the date of the rise for the summer recess as well as its return on September 3.”
The minister in charge of no-deal planning, Michael Gove , is expected to update MPs on September 3 – their first day back in Westminster.
Earlier, Mr Corbyn vowed to do “everything necessary” to prevent a no-deal departure.
But he dismissed suggestions he could step aside, allowing another opposition figure to lead a national unity government.
Under Mr Corbyn’s plan, he would topple Mr Johnson through a no-confidence vote, become caretaker PM of a “time limited” minority government and trigger a general election and where Labour campaigns for a second referendum.

Speaking at a children’s centre in Corby, Northants, he insisted: “All the constitutional precedents are, when a government collapses, it’s the Leader of the Opposition that takes over.
“There seems to be a lot of very imaginative ‘what-iffery’ in the press at the present time.”
Asked how he would convince wavering MPs to back his plan, he claimed: “What I’m offering is that our party is the main opposition party.
“We will challenge this government, will do everything to stop a no-deal Brexit and we offer to form a minority administration to give people the choice in the future through a general election.”
Meanwhile, changes to freedom of movement rules after the UK quits the EU on Halloween will include tougher criminality checks, Downing Street said.
More than a million EU citizens living in the UK have been granted settled or pre-settled status.
But an estimated two million have not yet applied.
Concerns centre on how EU nationals who live in the UK but have failed to apply for settled status will be able to prove they are eligible if they are outside Britain on Brexit Day and try to return to the UK days later.
A Home Office spokesman said: “EU citizens and their families still have until at least December 2020 to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme and one million people have already been granted status.
“Freedom of movement as it currently stands will end on October 31 when the UK leaves the EU, and after Brexit the Government will introduce a new, fairer immigration system that prioritises skills and what people can contribute to the UK, rather than where they come from.”
