Jeremy Clarkson savagely mocks Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? contestant

Who Wants to Be A Millionaire? viewers flocked to Twitter to moan about TV hopeful Ross.

The contestant successfully was the quickest hopeful on Fastest Finger First to bag a place in the hot seat opposite host Jeremy Clarkson.

However, after the first question appeared on the screen he admitted he hadn’t got a clue.

For £100 Ross was asked to complete the phrase: “X is the spice of life”.

As he sat pondering the question, Jeremy mockingly asked: “Hello?” as Ross looked on in silence.

While the hopeful eventually plummeted for the correct answer which was ‘variety’ he stumbled through the rest of the questions and quickly used up his lifeline.

Ross struggled to answer any of the questions

Jeremy Clarkson openly mocked Ross for his lack of knowledge

Jeremy savagely laughed: “You are actually doing incredibly well considering you know literally nothing.”

Ross eventually wrapped up with £8,000.

Taking to Twitter, one fan moaned: “This is painful.”

Another added: “Not the sharpest tool in the box is he.. but definitely a tool.”

“Ross, just a heads up. You’re not going to get to a million,” a third continued.

Even the official show Twitter mocked Ross’ efforts

Meanwhile, a fourth added: “Longest time spent on question 1 ever.. well done my dude.

Even the official Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Twitter account opted to joke at Ross’ expense.

Posting to their 20,000 followers, the account shared a snap of the contestant along with the caption: “And that’s Ross safe on £1,000 – after the £100 question we weren’t sure we’d be saying that.”

They signed off the post with a laughing emoji.

Who Wants to Be A Millionaire? continues on ITV, Sundays 8pm
