Jeremy Clarkson reveals girlfriend Lisa Hogan's daughter 'hit by bottle' while partying

Jeremy Clarkson, 59, spoke out about the number of arrests and violent incidents which occurred at this year’s Notting Hill Carnival. Writing in his column for The Sun, the former Top Gear host said the low levels of carnage had impacted on his family. Revealing his girlfriend Lisa Hogan’s daughter had been among the partygoers who flocked to West London on Bank Holiday weekend, he noted: “In the course of the baking hot weekend, 353 people were arrested, 37 policemen and policewomen were assaulted, and a countless number of revellers staggered home with blood spurting from various wounds. My girlfriend’s daughter arrived back with a bloody nose, having been hit by a randomly lobbed bottle.”

Jeremy also explained how the injured youngster’s brother had told him he’d “seen a gang repeatedly smashing a man’s head into the bonnet of his car”.

“And then someone smashed his phone,” the presenter added. “It sounded like a war zone.

“My son, meanwhile, couldn’t remember if he’d been hurt or robbed,” The Grand Tour favourite told fans.

“’It was all a bit messy,’ he explained.”

However, Jeremy went on to highlight the fact Notting Hill Carnival “is nowhere near the worst outbreak of lawlessness we see during the year”.

He pointed to the arrest rates from the likes of Creamfields Festival (23.67 for every 10,000) and the fact officials have been forced to build a mobile prison at Henley Regatta in order to contain “drunk and fighty guests” while they sober up at the boozy event.

“Generally speaking, if you mix a crowds with a bit of drink and a party atmosphere, there is usually a bit of bother,” Jeremy wrote.

“So we shouldn’t be surprised that so many get hurt and arrested at the Notting Hill Carnival.”

Elsewhere, Jeremy Clarkson took to Twitter to dismiss “difficult” Brexit.

“Ive had a really good idea,” the outspoken star told his 7.2 million followers.

“Why don’t we all just agree this Brexit business is far too complicated and pretend it never happened?”

While many fans rushed to the comments section to share their views on his politically-charged remark, one in particular caught the attention of the presenter.

“Because that would be undemocratic and unfair to those who voted leave?” they said.

“Same problem #JeremyCorbyn faces, his supporters are split into two camps. I voted Remain by the way.”

“You’re dead right, very unfair,” Jeremy replied.

“But you couldn’t have known you were voting for something that’s just too difficult.”
