Two past contestants on Jeopardy have shared their amazing love story which all began with them battling against each other on the game show.

Your faves could never.

Emily Therese Cloyd took to social media to share the unique story, and to give a shout-out to host Alex Trebek for inadvertently allowing the pair to meet.

‘It’s coming up on my 10 year (!) tape-i-versary for @Jeopardy, and with this week’s #JeopardyGOAT and last week’s ABC News Special featuring #ThankYouAlex, it seemed like a good time to share my #JEffect story,’ she wrote.

Buckle in guys.

Emily auditioned for the game show back in 2010, where she met another hopeful called Stacy.

Thinking nothing of it, she received a call from the producers a few months later asking if she’d be up for going to California to film for the show.

Naturally, she was on board.

On the day of the taping, Emily recognised one of her fellow contestants as Stacy, the women she’d met at the audition – not that Stacy appeared to remember her.

To add another coincidence to the mix, Emily and Stacy’s names were pulled out of a hat to compete against each other.

As it happens, Emily wasn’t too great at the show, only racking up $400 (£300) to Stacey’s whopping $15,000 (£11,000).

However, the story didn’t end there. Emily and Stacy got together months later for a viewing party of their episode, and kept hanging out afterwards.

While Emily doesn’t go into details about the next part of the story, you can imagine what’s coming next – they fell in love and lived happily ever after.

She did mention, however, that they invited host Alex to the wedding (although he unfortunately couldn’t make it).

Sharing the sweetest photos of the pair’s wedding, Emily went on to say: ‘#ThankYouAlex@StacyCloyd and I can honestly say that you changed both of our lives. #JEffect.’

No, you’re crying.

Fans of the show are loving the sweet story, with one writing: ‘What?! This is the BEST story! I love it!’ and other telling Emily: ‘What a cool story!!! Thanks for sharing.’

So, if you’re ever invited on a game show, be sure to keep an eye out for the love of your life.
