Jenny Ryan: ‘The cat is out the bag’ The Chase quizzer announces huge move away from show


Jenny Ryan is best known for being a professional quizzer on ITV show, The Chase, which is fronted by Bradley Walsh.

But the ITV favourite announced she will soon be showing off a different talent as she will be competing on the Celebrity version of the X Factor, which airs next month.

Jenny retweeted a video from X Factor’s Twitter account, where she said the “cat is truly out of the bag” now the news has been released.

Addressing the exciting reveal, Jenny said: “Well, the cat is truly out of the bag now. Or should that be Vixen?”

Many of Jenny’s 52,200 Twitter followers sent her well wishes in response to the huge move.

One person praised: “You’ve got an awesome voice… I’ll be voting for you.”

Another thrilled fan wrote: “Whaaaat! This is going to be amazing!”(sic)

While a third commented: “So excited for this!! I think you’re going to smash it.”

Jenny has previously showcased her impressive singing voice when she teamed up with her co-stars, Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace and Anne Hegerty.

The Chase quizzers competed on the Comic Relief show Let’s Sing and Dance for Comic Relief two years ago.

The stars pulled off an incredible performance by singing songs from The Wizard of Oz, and ended up winning the competition.

Jenny is also in a band, a ukulele group from her home town of Bolton, called the Nanukes Of The North.

The full line-up of the new series of X Factor: Celebrity has now been confirmed.

The special show will see 15 acts compete in front of judges Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger.

In the groups category, former Love Island stars, Wes Nelson, Zara McDermott, Eyal Booker and Samira Mighty have come together to create a supergroup.

Others in the category include former Strictly Come Dancing professional Brendan Cole who has teamed up with actor Jeremy Edwards, social media stars Harvey and Max Mills, a group of influencers and bloggers plus a band called Try Star, full of rugby players Thom Evans, Levi Davis and Ben Foden.

In the overs category, Jenny will have competition from Ricki Lake, Martin Bashir and Victoria Ekanoye.

The unders (aged 27 or younger) is made up of Olivia Alson, Megan McKenna, Hayley Hasselhoff, Jony Labey and Kevin McHale.

The series is replacing the traditional X Factor series, which has aired every year since 2004.

X Factor: Celebrity begins next month on ITV.
