Jennifer Love Hewitt, 42, and husband Brian Hallisay welcome their third child, son Aidan


Jennifer Love Hewitt and her husband Brian Hallisay – who are both 42 – have welcomed their third child.

The couple shared on Thursday that they have named their new son Aidan James. They already are parents to daughter Autumn James, seven, and son Atticus James, six.

‘It’s A Boy,’ the I Know What You Did Last Summer actress wrote in her Instagram caption as she received ‘likes’ from LeAnn Rimes and BIP star Ashley Iaconetti.

‘Well this is how my kids sent me to the hospital. My belly was a big hit,’ she said as she shared a photo of her baby bump with eyes over the belly button and ‘Almost cooked’ as the mouth.

The Party Of Five star added: ‘It is said that women leave their bodies in labor… they travel to the stars to collect the souls of their babies, and return to this world together.

‘It was my greatest honor to go and collect you Aidan James. Now back to snuggles and resting.’ 

In May she announced she was pregnant.

The 9-1-1 star said: ‘Oh baby! We have another one on the way. So excited to finally share this news with all of you.’

‘Thank you @clearblue for being part of our journey and giving us a platform to share this news!’ the former teen star said.

She then said she is behind an awareness campaign with March Of Dimes, a nonprofit organization that works to improve the health of mothers and babies.

‘As part of this exciting moment, I want to help raise awareness for Clearblue partner @marchodimes and their #ItStartsWithMom campaign – which helps provide moms and soon-to-be moms with resources and information on all topics ranging from getting ready to be a mom to maternal mental health and wellness,’ she explained.

The star also told People she had always been open to a third child.

‘But definitely didn’t think in the crazy year that the entire world was having that it would necessarily be this moment,’ she noted.

‘I feel like we’ve been able to so far raise two really special kids who will be great role models.’

The Ghost Whisperer star then said being pregnant again has been ‘such a pleasant, beautiful, surprising gift.’

She also said that her son had a feeling she was pregnant before she even knew she was with child.

She was laying in bed watching TV when a Clear Blue commercial came.  Her son said, ‘Hey Mommy, you should order one of those in case there’s a baby in your belly.’

‘I was like, “How rude! I just ate a big dinner. What is he talking about?” It stuck with me, and they’ve been asking off and on for a year or so for a sibling. We weren’t closed off to the idea, it just wasn’t something that we were actively thinking about,’ said Jennifer.

She took the test and it came out positive.

Jennifer also told the site this third child will be her last. ‘I’m pretty sure. I don’t think I could do another one. I think five is a great number.’

Hewitt played a pregnant woman on her show 9-1-1 and said it reminded her of the birthing process. But it was strange timing, she added.

‘Because my kids are a little bit older, it was a good reminder of being back in that space again. And [costar Kenneth Choi] was like, “See? Playing pregnant got you pregnant!” I’m like, “Yeah, I guess so,”‘ she shared. ‘The craziest, most surreal moment was having to give birth while being pregnant. That was very interesting.
