Bruce Springsteen personally called Jennifer Lopez after her epic Super Bowl half-time performance to basically tell her she killed it – especially when she and her daughter Emme, 11, sang a mash up of her hit Let’s Get Loud and Born In The USA.

Born In The USA is a Springsteen track and Jennifer had previously called Bruce to ask for his permission to perform the song.

It saw her and Emme take to the stage together, with J Lo’s mini-me showing off her insane vocals and Jennifer and Shakira then joining in for their performance’s big finale.

Speaking on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Jennifer said: ‘[Bruce] called after the Super Bowl and he was like, “You girls can really sing and dance!” He said him and his wife Patti loved hearing the song.

‘He’s like, “It made our hearts leap with joy,” so that was a great thing.’

Jennifer teamed up with Shakira for their incredible half-time show that saw both artists bring back their hit songs in the most incredibly medley of all time.

Can you tell we haven’t stopped fan-girling over the pair, yet?

Their performance wasn’t without their critics, though, with some accusing the stars’ performance of being too sexualised for a family event, but brushing off the haters, Jen said performing at the Super Bowl was a ‘dream come true’ for her.

Revealing how she prepared herself for the big day, she told host Jimmy: ‘I wake up and then I work out, I had breakfast, I was on a diet the whole time, just trying to be in my best shape ever.

‘I go home and I call my choreographer and say, “Come over, we’re going to go everything one more time, none of the other dancers, just me and you,” she came over, we went into my garage and went over it a few more times and then I started getting ready.

‘I got there early… and we get there and we’re basically just waiting for the show. I kept praying, “God just help me embrace this moment, do my best and feel good,” I didn’t want to miss it being too nervous or anxious.

Jen revealed that she spent hours watching back old artist’s perform during the legendary half-time spot, including her all-time favourite Prince, Madonna, Diana Ross, Aerosmith, Lady Gaga and Beyonce.

She said: ‘It’s a once in a lifetime experience kinda thing as an artist that you always dream of doing.’
