Jennifer Lopez gets tearful as she discusses Oscar buzz to her Hustlers performance

The 50-year-old actress has received plenty of Oscar buzz for her turn as feisty stripper Ramona in the crime-comedy, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday.

And she became tearful as Hoda Kotb read out some of the critical acclaim on SiriusXM radio.

Jenny’s voice wavered as she said: ‘I’ve just been working hard for so long, for my whole life. It’s nice.’

The singer paused, struggling to compose herself, before saying laughing: ‘Sorry, you guys know I’m emotional!’

Jen added that she bawled in her bed after the positive reviews started coming in.

‘I was literally sitting in my bed yesterday and they were sending me all the reviews. I could not believe it,’ the Jenny From The Block singer recalled.

‘I was crying, me and my girlfriend of 20 years were sitting there and she was trying to film me. I was like, “Oh my God.”‘

She continued: ‘You work hard your whole life and you wonder if anybody notices in a sense, on that level, to be in that conversation. You have dreams when you’re a little girl of being [at the Oscars], you know what I mean?’

Jenny – who has documented the strict diet she put herself on to get the abs of Ramona – stars alongside Constance Wu, Julia Stiles, Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart, Lizzo and Cardi B.
