It was one school’s lucky day when they received a video call from Jennifer Lopez and fiancé Alex Rodriguez offering to donate a year’s supply of food.

It all started when teacher at Jacksboro Elementary in Tennessee, Brooke Goins, took to Facebook earlier this month to share a story about a student who wasn’t eating enough at home.

When Brooke found out about it, she messaged her fellow teachers at the school to try to pool some money together to buy groceries for the young boy.

After buying the groceries, she wrote on Facebook: ‘It’s a crazy rollercoaster of emotions being a teacher, but today it was worth every tear that fell to see him light up when that bag [of groceries] was put into his backpack!

‘Teachers, keep your heads up YOU ARE making a difference! We are all exhausted, but we push forward each and every day,’ she added.

The post went viral, with many praising the teachers for their generosity.

When JLo and her hubby-to-be saw the post, they were ‘brought to tears’ and decided they needed to do something about it.

As part-owners in a company called Tiller & Hatch, the pair decided to ‘donate a year’s worth of their yummy, healthy meals for the students and their school’s food pantry,’ JLo announced to her 103 million Instagram followers.

And the reaction on the staff and kids’ faces were priceless.

In the 55 second-long video, one teacher from the school held the phone up to the class as they excitedly listened to the announcement.

All of the students then adorably waved to the camera and yelled out ‘thank you!’ in unison.

The video then showed one teacher unloading boxes of food from the back of a car with an army of students helping out.

JLo wrote in the caption to her video: ‘We are happy to be in business with partners who also believe no child should EVER have to go to sleep hungry. Everyone should have access to delicious, nutritious food.

‘This was my favorite moment of the month and it’s one of the best things we’ve been able to do,’ she added.

Jennifer and Alex announced their engagement earlier this year, following a two-year relationship.
