Jennifer Lawrence says fiancé Cooke Maroney is ‘the best person she’s ever met’

Jennifer Lawrence described fiancé Cooke Maroney as “the best person I’ve ever met” as she opened up on their engagement.

Speaking at the LA premiere of X-Men sequel Dark Phoenix yesterday, the actress told Entertainment Tonight: “Well, he’s just the best person I’ve ever met in my whole life.

“It was a very, very easy decision.”

The actress’s spokesperson confirmed her engagement in February after sparking rumours when she was spotted wearing a “massive ring” on a night out with Maroney.

The couple celebrated their impending nuptials with a pre-wedding gathering in New York last month.

Lawrence’s stylists Jill Lincoln and Jordan Johnson shared a photo of the bride-to-be beaming as she made her way through a candlelit courtyard, wearing a wedding-worthy white dress from L. Wells Bridal.

“Here she comes! We couldn’t be happier and more excited for #jenniferlawrence to become a #MRS.. This weekend we toasted Jen and her groom to be.. Too good of a time was had by all,” they wrote on Instagram after the event.

The pair were first linked back last June and are thought to have been introduced by the actress’ close friend Laura Simpson.

A report in People magazine speculated that Lawrence and the art dealer, who currently works at the Gladstone art gallery in New York, had been scoping out luxury venues in the city ahead of the wedding.

“I would be surprised if the wedding were not a fairly extensive family affair,” a source told the publication.

The Hunger Games star was previously in a relationship with mother! director Darren Aronofsky and dated fellow X-Men co-star Nicholas Hoult between 2010 and 2014.

The two are thought to have parted on amicable terms and appeared happy to reunite on the red carpet at last night’s event.
