Jennifer Lawrence is drinking beer at 5pm during lockdown to delay her daily cocktail

Jennifer Lawrence’s brand as Hollywood’s girl next door is pretty much built on relatability.

And she’s just got another relatable AF point, as she discussed her lockdown drinking habits.

While the pubs are all closed, many of us are drinking more in quarantine, and with the concept of time out the window, Jennifer is taking the whole ‘it’s 5 o’clock somewhere’ mantra very literally.

The 29-year-old revealed she starts drinking at 5pm nowadays, while speaking to her friend Amy Schumer on her new Food Network show Amy Schumer Learns To Cook.

In an upcoming episode, as reported by ET, Amy called her Oscar-winning friend in lockdown, and told her: ‘We’re drinking chardonnay because, as you know, I like an oaky chard. What kind of wine do you like? I don’t remember because I’m a bad friend.’

Jennifer explained she is more of a red wine person, and said she prefers sauvignon blanc ‘if I’m drinking white, which I think is mainly for sluts’.

Amy, 38, joked: ‘How dare you. You like a nice red wine and earlier in the night.’

But J-Law has been struggling with pushing back her daily cocktail to later in the evening, saying: ‘I’m trying to wait until 6pm so I have, like, a preemptive beer at five.’

At least she’s having some good food along with that 5pm beer, if Amy sharing Jennifer’s recipe for roast chicken with shallot fried rice on her Instagram earlier this week is anything to go by.

The Hunger Games actress is known to love a wine, having been pictured on multiple chat shows with a glass of vino – and of course, there was that time she managed to climb over chairs at the Oscars without spilling a drop.
