Jennifer Aniston has admitted to feeling ‘isolated’ by the national treasure status appearing in Friends afforded her.

15 years since she last starred as Rachel Green in the sitcom, the actress is making her return to a main TV role in Apple TV+’s flagship launch The Morning Show.

Jennifer stars as Alex Levy, a New York breakfast news anchor who finds her world turned upside down when her on-screen partner Mitch Kessler (Steve Carell) is fired following sexual misconduct allegations.

Speaking about getting into the role, the 50-year-old actress explained how she could relate to the isolation that comes with the public feeling like they know you.

‘I understand that, with people having connections to Friends,’ Jennifer told Entertainment Weekly.

‘I understand the isolation – not wanting to be seen, not wanting to be public, not wanting to have to go on a red carpet,’ she continued.

‘It’s not always easy to go out there and have to be the person that you have to be.’

But despite the pressures that came with starring in the hit 90s sitcom, Jennifer has recently ramped up our excitement for a Friends reunion.

First airing 25 years ago in 1994, the actress reunited with her co-stars as she joined Instagram, breaking the social media platform in the process.

And appearing on Ellen earlier this week, Jen revealed that, while a full-on reboot was unlikely to happen, there could be something else on the cards.

Jennifer said: ‘We would love for there to be something, but we don’t know what that something is. So we’re just trying.’

‘We’re working on something,’ she then teased.

The Morning Show launches on Apple TV+ on Friday 1 November.
