Jenna Dewan has recalled how she initially felt ‘blindsided’ by Channing Tatum’s new relationship with Jessie J, which emerged just months after they separated.
The Step Up actress split from husband Channing in April 2018 after nine years of marriage. Not long after, she filed for divorce and the pair are now co-parenting their six-year-old daughter Everly.
Six months after their marriage ended, the Magic Mike actor was romantically linked to British singer Jessie J before later going public with their relationship.
According to Radar Online, Jenna opens up about her divorce from Channing and how she first heard he had a new girlfriend in her upcoming memoir Gracefully You: Finding Beauty and Balance in the Everyday.
The 38-year-old reportedly writes: ‘There I was, on a plane, alone, finding out about his new relationship. I felt blindsided.’
Jenna later reveals how she was going to react to the news via Twitter and wrote a series of tweets that she eventually decided not to post.
‘Instead of reacting the way I wanted… I asked myself this: How do I choose grace in this moment?’ she explained.
There are no hard feelings between Jenna and Jessie, 31, as last year, the actress spoke out to defend the Price Tag singer when they were compared to each other.
Jenna wrote in a Twitter post: ‘Amen Jessie!!!! Women for all the way. No need for negativity. Let’s live in a world where we support each other and raise each other up.
‘Like I said before, positive vibes all the way. Nothing but respect,’ alongside a heart emoji.
Jenna has also moved onto a new relationship and is currently dating Steve Kazee.
The happy couple are expecting their first child together and announced Jenna’s pregnancy in September.
Sharing the exciting news, the couple said in a joint statement: ‘We are beyond overjoyed and couldn’t be happier to be expanding our family.’
This week, The Blast reported that Jenna and Channing have both filed to become legally single as they work towards settling their divorce.
According to the publication, the estranged spouses are bifurcating the status of their divorce which means they’ll be considered single in the eyes of the law and potentially free to marry other people.
