Jeff Lewis is being sued by Gage Edward… and his ex also wants to change their daughter's name

Former Flipping Out star Jeff Lewis has revealed that his ex Gage Edward is suing him amid a their very nasty split and ugly custody battle.  

The 49-year-old real estate connoisseur admitted on the SiriusXM Jeff Lewis Live show that he was served by his former partner, with one unusual request included in part of the order.

He revealed Gage, 35, wants to alter their three-year-old daughter’s name from Monroe Christine Lewis to Monroe Christine Edward Lewis. 

Jeff Lewis revealed that things are still fairly tense with his ex as Gage Edward is suing the reality star

‘Yesterday, I was served by Gage,’ Jeff began. ‘He did file a request for order which means that we now have a hearing date. They put in all of their requests, like I want 50% and I want child support.’

He joked that maybe there was an option to ‘save a little bit of money’ and represent himself in front of a judge.

‘The one thing I just had to mention, even though there’s a 24 hour rule (his own personal motto to help avoid unnecessary decisions in a certain time period),’ he began. ‘One of the requests, and to me this is f***ing crazy … Gage is requesting that we change Monroe’s name.’

‘One of the requests, and to me this is f***ing crazy … Gage is requesting that we change Monroe’s name,’ Jeff said 

When asked if the couple chose the name together, Lewis said ‘yes’ and divulged more into the new moniker up for discussion.  

‘He would like a name change,’ Jeff said. ‘He would like Monroe Christine Edward Lewis. Now just so we all know, Gage’s last name is Fredenburg. He goes by his middle name which is Edward.’

Lewis added that maybe it would be a better idea to use a ‘surname’ instead of a middle name when changing titles. 

‘Now I’m suggesting that, if he does for some reason get 50 percent custody, that we do change it to Monroe Christine Depressed Lewis.’ 

Jeff said that his initial reaction was that the request ‘seems kind of crazy’ and he would go forward with asking his lawyers about more information into the name change.

The couple dated for more than 10 years before putting an end to their relationship at the beginning of 2019, with Jeff, at the time, taking full responsibility for not being emotionally available until it was too late to save the union. 

They agreed to a temporary custody arrangement for Monroe, but Gage reportedly wants more than his allotted three days per week with a 50-50 split. 

Monroe was born via a surrogate in 2016; Jeff is Monroe’s biological father and they used an egg donor.

Before Monroe’s birth, the exes had more embryos frozen and had been planning on having more children together before the break-up.

They had planned for their next baby to be Gage’s biological child.

Jeff has since moved on to find love in the arms of new boyfriend Scott Anderson and the couple have reportedly been dating for 11 months.
