Jeff Hordley: Emmerdale star Cain Dingle's wife Zoe Henry addresses family lockdown move

Jeff Hordley, 50, and wife Zoe Henry, 54, who plays Rhona Goskirk in Emmerdale, have been putting a lot of time and effort into their allotment. Yesterday, the actress praised her husband as she thanked him for not “swearing”.

It comes as the UK Government has enforced a nationwide lockdown with families being told to remain indoors.

It is in a bid to help slow the spread of COVID-19 which has become a global threat.

Zoe uploaded some pictures of their incredible allotment plot after Jeff gave it some tender loving care.

In view of her 98,000 Twitter followers, she captioned the first snap: “We re-roofed the shed and Jeff didn’t swear once.”

It comes after Zoe joked a few weeks ago they were “still on speaking terms and still married” after they replaced the cover of a poly tunnel together.

In a second tweet, Jeff could be seen watering their plants, as the sun went down.

Zoe wrote: “Evening water. Best time of the day.”

The soap star has previously spoken out about the couple’s reason behind purchasing an allotment.

Speaking on This Morning in 2019, the Rhona actress said it helps with her husband’s Crohn’s disease.

Jeff was diagnosed with the illness when he was just 18-years-old.

Crohn’s disease is a lifelong condition in which parts of the digestive system become inflamed, according to the NHS.

Zoe admitted while they grow their crops for a good reason, the couple’s two children Violent, 14, and Stan, 10, “hate it”.

Speaking on Loose Women, she said: “It’s sort of changed our lives. There’s a lot about mental health and having your hands in the soil, it’s nice to show the kids as well but they hate it.”

Jeff also previously spoke out about them growing their own vegetables for health reasons.

He told the Loose Women panellists: “It’s good for us to grow it.

“I have Crohn’s disease, so I find eating from what we’ve grown is a good thing for me.”
