Jedward take aim at Noel Gallagher after anti-mask comments

Jedward have slammed at Noel Gallagher after the musician revealed he is refusing to wear a face mask.

After this week taking aim at Ian Brown and JK Rowling, the pop duo have now taken on on the Oasis singer after he made controversial comments about mask-wearing.

In a tweet that parodied the lyrics to the band’s hit Wonderwall, the X Factor stars, real names John and Edward Grimes, wrote: “Today is gonna be the day @NoelGallagher That we’re gonna throw it back to you.

“By now you should’ve somehow Realised what you gotta do and Wear a mask because we’re gonna be the ones that save you and after all we’re your Wonderwall Love Jedward and @Liamgallagher”.

Speaking on the Matt Morgan podcast this week, Gallagher said: “I was going up to Manchester the other week and some guy’s going, ‘Can you put your mask on,’ on the train, ‘because the transport police will get on and fine you a thousand pounds.’”

The former Oasis guitarist continued: “But you don’t have to put it on if you’re eating. So I was saying: Oh right, this killer virus that’s sweeping through the train is gonna come and attack me, but see me having a sandwich and go, leave him, he’s having his lunch?

“Why do you have to wear one when you’re having a f***ing haircut, but you don’t have to wear one in the pub?”

Gallagher called Morgan a “cowardly germophobe” when he argued in favour of wearing a mask.

“It’s not a law,” Gallagher said. “There’s too many f***ing liberties being taken away from us now… I choose not to wear one.

“If I get the virus it’s on me, it’s not on anyone else … it’s a piss-take. There’s no need for it … They’re pointless.”

Jedward’s swipe at Gallagher follows their criticism of Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown, who called for vital pandemic safety measures to be lifted.

“NO LOCKDOWN NO TESTS NO TRACKS NO MASKS NO VAX #researchanddestroy,” he tweeted.

When Brown denied being a conspiracy theorist, Jedward replied to his tweet: “Hi Ian you discredited yourself with your backward views and non logical actions”.

Jedward also encouraged their followers to burn JK Rowling’s newest book, which has been branded transphobic by some critics.
