When Chris Harrison called Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette the most ‘dramatic’ one yet, he wasn’t lying, as the season ended with a shock from Jed Wyatt.
After getting down on one knee and proposing to the pageant winner, it was revealed that Jed had actually been withholding information from Hannah regarding his relationship status prior to the show.
On Thursday, Jed, 25, appeared on Good Morning America in New York City to discuss how the mishap has changed him as a man.

Jed wore a blue suit with black dress shoes as he appeared in front of a live studio audience in New York City.
While chatting with Michael Strahan, Jed first backed up that his love for Hannah was true.
‘I was really overwhelmed by how much I actually did fall in love with her,’ he began.
The country singer then went on to explain that it was this love that caused him to keep secret how he was seeing another woman right before leaving to be on the reality show.

‘I was fearful to lose her and I was acting more out of fear than my actual love for her and that was my mistake but that’s kind of what happened,’ he said.
He then went on to address what happened when the article detailing his relationship came out which Hannah had sent to him upon seeing it.
‘We had discussed that situation prior to the article and then we discussed it the day before the article came out… we had touched a lot of bases on it but still I was fearful and held out on some of the details that in turn caused us to end,’ Wyatt said.

Jed also told Michael that although he could have chosen to ‘not show up’ to After The Final Rose, he still did so in order to give Hannah ‘closure.’
As for the newly single singer himself, he revealed he’s now working to move on too.
‘I do have closure now knowing that she has moved on because I do love her and I want the best for her, but ultimately I just have to move on,’ he said.

When asked about his thoughts on Hannah asking her second runner up, Tyler Cameron, out on a date during the show’s finale, he admitted he’d be in support of them rekindling.
And when it comes to his own relationship with Hannah, the Tennessee native said he thinks they’ll eventually ‘reconnect in some way,’ and hopes that they can ‘still be friends.’
When asked if he’ll now handle relationships in a new way, Jed admitted he hopes to ‘move forward as a better man.’
He added: ‘This whole show really opened my eyes to a lot of things and changed me in a lot of ways and with my newfound respective I hope to move forward as a better man.’

Hannah’s season ended with her saying goodbye to runner-up Tyler Cameron, and accepting a proposal from Jed.
But the engagement was immediately plagued with problems, after Jed admitted to Hannah just one day after the proposal that he had been romantically involved with another woman prior to the show.
As the show aired on TV, however, a singer named Haley Stevens came forward with accusations their relationship was quite serious, to the point they had even exchanged ‘I love you’s.’
The allegations ultimately led to Hannah breaking up with Jed for good.
