Jasmine Harman: A Place In The Sun presenter spills how Brexit could effect Channel 4 show

Prime Minister Theresa May, 62, confirmed she has requested a delay of the Article 50 process until June as heated Brexit talks continue in Parliament today. But Jasmine Harman, 43, admitted despite Brexit potentially having an effect on buying a home abroad, she believes Brits won’t let the process get in their way. Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, she revealed: “I’m sure it [Brexit] will [effect property buying]. “It’s really interesting seeing people’s approach to Brexit, obviously no one knows what’s going to happen but moving abroad or having a place overseas means so much to people, they won’t let a thing like Brexit stand in their way.

“You’ve got to be a certain type of person and be fairly gutsy to be like, ‘Right I’m just going to do it, I’m not waiting around for the right time for me’.

“Ultimately, I don’t know what’s going to happen and what changes will take place.

“I’m sure there will be some changes but I don’t feel it’s likely that people won’t be able to buy a property in Europe anymore.

“A Place In The Sun… we have done shows in different countries such as Australia, the Caribbean and Costa Rica and Thailand.

“They’ve all got their different laws about what foreigners have to do in order to buy.

“Worse case scenario… they’ll be some other rules or some other fees or something like that.

“But I don’t think it’ll stop people from buying overseas in Europe.”

Jasmine added she doesn’t believe the show’s producers are worried about any potential changes as they have a hectic filming schedule ahead for future episodes.

She added: “They’ve got a lot of confidence in the programme so we will still be filming a lot of episodes this year and next year.

“So yeah we will see what happens.”

Elsewhere, Jasmine celebrated her 15th anniversary on the show last month and revealed she has no plans to leave.

She divulged: “I’ve never considered leaving the show to work on other things.

“I’ve obviously worked on others because I’m not filming every week. Theres plenty of room to do other things if I wanted to.

“I think I’m in it for the long haul now to be honest.

“A Place In The Sun have been incredibly helpful with my sort of changes in my life with having children and things like that and being able to accommodate me.”

Jasmine added she is also “invested” in helping expats buy their dream home, adding: “It’s usually me that ends up crying!”

A Place In The Sun airs weekdays from 3pm on Channel 4.
