Janey Godley's hilarious response to Sturgeon 'curtain twitching' question

Janey Godley’s voiceovers of Nicola Sturgeon have provided some much-needed relief throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

The comedian has been giving a helping hand to the First Minister once again with her latest light-hearted take on a very serious issue.

The funny woman took aim at those who have been breaking the regulations surrounding gatherings of large groups of people, adding to recent rise in confirmed cases across the country, and the first two deaths in a month.

Police in Scotland have been handed powers
from tomorrow to break up meetings of more than 15 people indoors.

Their powers will put an end to illegal house parties, which the Government fears may create super-spreader environments.

Janey also took a shot at football fans who have been feeling put out at the decision to allow a rugby match at Murrayfield to take place this weekend since lockdown began.

As usual, hilarious Janey wasn’t holding back with her side-splitting banter.

She said: “Hi there, Nicola here, I’m wearing my wee red jacket I got for our Chantelle’s dance party. If you’ve been following my story on the Tik Tok, yes we did manage to get a couple of rolls of Anaglypta, we’re going up tae big Claire Kelly’s house this week and I’m gonna do a wee coat a paint on it cos am good at that as well.

“Talking aboot going tae people’s houses, we’ve been having f*****g house parties again ain’t we?

“And the polis are gonna huv tae get involved.

“We cannae be having the house parties, we cannae be having they f******g shenanigans and the good news is the weather is like the Arctic circle so we won’t have they bampots in the park aw drunk, rolling about wi their taps aff breathing into each others f*****g faces.”

Janey also wasted no time in hitting out at those who have been breaking the rules, or those who might think football fans are being treated like second class citizens after Celtic ’s proposed test event was refused this weekend.

It comes after the FM was quizzed on the decision to boot out a request to stage a trial run with fans inside Parkhead for Sunday’s visit of Motherwell – despite already giving government approval for rugby to open up BT Murrayfield to spectators for a PRO 14 clash between Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh on Friday night.

Janey Godley has been lifting the nation spirits with her Nicola Sturgeon voiceover clips

She added: “Listen no-one is giving preferential treatment to rugby fans, the rugby is going ahead just sos we can to a wee trial run and see whit’s happening cos we’re in the middle of a a pandemic.

“I dunno if ye actually know right but see the aw, the shape o the ball, the virus disnae give a f**k about the shape ah the ball , aw the sports are gonna be affected, we’re trying we’re best here.”

And when Ms Sturgeon was asked if she was encouraging a nation of “curtain twitchers” to form, Janey had another funny response.

She said: “Curtain twitching? Sounds very sexual for a young lad to be coming out wi that shenanigans.

“I used tae be in a band called Kate and the Curtain Twitchers back in the 80s, we did aw the hits o Bananarama, we used tae tour the whole aw the Boness and Falkirk area.”

With gags like those, it’s no wonder the FM has admitted to being a bit of a fan of Janey herself in the past.

Speaking about the clips previously, Sturgeon said: “Janey Godley is a brilliant comedian in my view, and her voice overs are very, very funny.

“They are very rude in terms of the language that’s used so sometimes I don’t feel I can retweet them but they are very, very funny.”
