Janelle Monae made a powerful speech during her set on the West Holts stage at Glastonbury Festival, where she called for the impeachment of US president Donald Trump.
The Grammy-nominated artist performed tracks from her back catalogue as well as her most recent album Dirty Computer, before addressing the crowds.
“We must impeach Donald Trump,” she announced. “We must fight for the rights of immigrants. We must fight for the rights of LGBTQIA people, of black people, of women. And we must impeach Donald Trump.”

Monae performed on the final day of Glastonbury alongside other artists including Christine and the Queens, Dave, Years & Years, Miley Cyrus, Kylie Minogue and Billie Eilish.
A number of other artists have made political statements over the weekend, particularly ones aimed at Boris Johnson.
On Friday, grime star and Glastonbury headliner Stormzy managed to get his audience of thousands to chant: “F*** the government and f*** Boris,” which is a line from his single “Vossi Bop”.
On Sunday, Years & Years frontman Olly Alexander spoke about the liberating feeling of being able to be open and proud of his sexuality, while hip hop artist Loyle Carner sported a T-shirt emblazoned with the words: “I Hate Boris.”
The festival closed with a headline set from The Cure, who performed on the Pyramid Stage.
