Jane McDonald: ‘Don’t want to tempt fate’ Cruising star on taking next step with partner

Jane McDonald, 56, has been in a relationship with Eddie Rothe, 65, for over a decade, after the pair rekindled their romance in 2009. They had previously met as teenagers in the 80s but grew apart, before they reconnected and later got engaged.

The cruise singer has now opened up about marriage with her beau but admitted she doesn’t want to “tempt fate” because they have a “great relationship”.

Speaking candidly in this week’s OK! Magazine, Jane revealed the pair are in no particular rush to head down the aisle.

“It would be lovely to get married – if you could fit any time in with my agent!” she explained.

“We’ve got such a great relationship, I don’t want to tempt fate. It just works.”

She added: “My life has been a lot of being in the right place at the right time, so being back with Eddie has something of destiny about it. We both realise we are lucky to have found each other again.”

Meanwhile, the Queen of Cruise recently confirmed she will be returning for it’s seventh series.

Talking to Cruise Critic, the singer announced that the new series of the Bafta-award winning show will be shown later in the year on Channel 5.

“We’re just filming the last bit of it. We’ve been filming it all year in between the shows,” she told the publication.

“I know it’s coming out over the winter, but I can’t really say much more.”

Cruising with Jane McDonald was first aired in 2017, and has proven to be a success.

The show sees the singer travel around the likes of the Caribbean, Baltics, Far East and US Deep South, exploring a host of different cruise lines and ships.
