Jamie Carragher sends Jadon Sancho transfer message to Man Utd and Chelsea

Premier League clubs have been told signing Jadon Sancho would be a “no-brainer” by Jamie Carragher.

Manchester United and Chelsea are expected to battle it out for Sancho in the summer in a bid to bring the England international back to the Premier League.

Sancho has flourished in the Bundesliga since ditching Manchester City for Borussia Dortmund as a youngster.

A huge fee of £120million has been touted for the 19-year-old – but Liverpool legend Carragher believes he would be an instant hit in the Premier League with his best years still ahead of him.

Asked if Sancho would be a success if he returned to the Premier League, Carragher told Sky Sports: “I think so.

Man Utd and Chelsea are ready for a transfer battle for Jadon Sancho

“It’s almost like a no-brainer, look at how well he’s playing in a top league with a top club where there’s pressure.

“He’s playing week in, week out, his numbers are fantastic and his age is just perfect.

“I think when the transfer is done wherever the lad decides to go, I think he’ll able to make his pick with the top clubs in the Premier League, I think the fee will look eye-watering but over time you’ll think in the end it’s cheap because you’re going to get a player there for 10 years if you keep him at your club.

“If you think about the development of Raheem Sterling at Manchester City and also Liverpool, it feels like something similar.

Sancho has starred in Germany and could return to the Premier League

“He’s almost like the the next Raheem Sterling in terms of getting great numbers with assists and goals.”

Carragher has urged Chelsea to step up their interest in Sancho after agreeing a deal to sign Hakim Ziyech from Ajax at the end of the season.

Carragher said: “I think it will tell you straight away that Chelsea are desperate for wide players.

“I think with Pedro and Willian and the age they are at, and Willian every transfer window almost seems to get linked somewhere, or certainly Barcelona, so I’d imagine something would happen with him in the summer. I think Pedro is probably looking to go, he hasn’t played too much.

Carragher has tipped Sancho to emulate Raheem Sterling

“You would think wide players are the big thing that Chelsea are looking for.

“And they would be putting their hat in the ring with Sancho no doubt, possibly one of the best young players in world football at the moment.

“You see his stats for Borussia Dortmund for goals and assists, being an English player he’ll be desperate to come back, so I think he’ll be the hottest thing, everyone in the Premier League will be looking at to bring in.

“I think it was obvious from the transfer window in January that Frank Lampard wasn’t happy with what happened but it looks like they are trying to get some business done early.”
